Gloves for the Regency ball room

At the end of the 18th century the waltz became more and more fashionable. The pair dance conquered the ballrooms and salons. But the various forms of waltz, especially the sauté pan, were fast and also made you sweat. In order to protect the valuable fabrics of the dresses, the wearing of gloves became mandatory and a fixed rule of the etiquette of the ballroom.
